I had a lot more to say about Part II than Part I. These are both terrific episodes but there was more fruit for meta here.

OK, I'm back after a very short hiatus. This episode doesn't have as much meta. It's very enjoyable and delightful and all but Part I is a little on the shallow side, compared to the epic issues of Shakespearean proportions in the last few eps.

OK. This meta/picspam is a doozy. I had a ton to say on this classic episode. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being my longest picpsam because there's so much to unpack. I think I'm going to take a break for several days. I have the meta written up for both parts of 20 Hours in America but I need to rest a little and try to get ahead of the curve on the others because while I love Season 4, it's a little uneven.

Oh, and my new gimick is going to be finding the quote from the episode that includes the title so my LJ cut includes both the episode title and a quote. And as I should have reiterated, I love comments. I love positive short comments and I love it when smart people disagree with me in comments. It's all good.

Anyway, Posse Comitatus, You're Killing ShareefCollapse )

It's all really heating up. I got quite a bit of meta on this one- really interesting themes and relationship dynamics here.

This is a great solid episode that really eases us more into the plot for the finale.

You want plot? This episode has plots up the wazoo. This is an exciting, action-filled episode. However, some of these plots and statements read as quite dated. I’ll point them out but it’s easier to enjoy this episode if we party like it’s 2002.

That is Saudi Arabia, our partners in peace.Collapse )

This episode is much more quiet and ordinary than most of the episodes that I've covered. It's a nice episode, though, because it features a morally ambiguous dreamboat we call John Hoynes.

James Bond is ordering a weak-ass martini and being snooty about it.Collapse )

Onto The US Poet Laureate. This episode is fluffy good fun, IMO although it caused quite the stir over at Television without Pity. I wasn't posting there when the episode first aired but I did start posting on the The West Wing forums after the show ended and people are still talking about it.

Onto Dead Irish Writers. Very pretty episode, great lines, interesting stuff but I do have complaints.

Onto Handsome Men in Beautiful GownsCollapse )

More meta/picspam! I wanted to post on an episode I love because despite my hatred of Night Five, this is my favorite show.

So now to the underrated Hartsfield's LandingCollapse )

I hope that I’m not stepping on any toes here. I recently acquired a Livejournal account and I love this community and smileyem2811 picspams but both have remained inactive. If I’m encroaching on territory, someone let me know. However, I think this is a fun way to discuss some of the under-discussed seasons (past S2) and revisit the show. So I’m starting off where smileyem2811 left off and picspamming Night Five.

So, onto 'The Two Bartlets'. This seems to be many J/D fans' least favourite ep (for obvious reasons) and I'm a massive J/D fan! Having said that, it certainly isn't my least fave and for this picspam I'm going to try to put my objective head on!

Aside from all the Tahiti business there's a lot to appreciate. The big pajamas make a re-appearance for a start, as does Bob the UFO guy!

How do you like them apples?Collapse )

Right, the next ep to picspam is '100,000 airplanes'. From what I've read, people have mixed feelings about this ep and so do I. I always forget what the title refers to too! It does have some good parts and others seem, to me, a bit weird.

Let's see... We have Amy behaving completely differently to the end of the last ep, we have Sam's ex-fiance, (who I find I hard to like or believe was engaged to Sam!) and some odd flashbacks. Contrast that though with one of the best Josh and Donna hugs, a feelgood climax to the ep and Joey Lucas - always a bonus (though I think this is the ep I like her in the least, probably because most of her scenes are with Sam rather than Josh).

Here goes...

Sam, Sam, sunshine man. Get on the couch, I'm gonna do you right now.Collapse )

Ok, so I'm carrying on with my picspams! I'm not sure if anyone else wants me to, but I'm going through a really hard time at the moment, and I find doing them and looking at the episodes in depth therapeutic! Anyway, there's not much else going on in this community :( I will try to be more concise from now on!

Next up is 'H.Con - 172'. I always forget what this ep's title is about, thinking it's some sort of submarine or bomb or something! But of course it refers to the proposed censure of The President. Also in this ep, Josh's ensorcellment deepens (but he still looks extra good to compensate!), Sam's in a flap about a book written by an ex-White House staffer, which causes C.J. to ask rather embarrassing questions of Bartlet, The President gets upset that he can't display a very old map and Cliff Calley saves the day - again!

I'm sorry, how does a telephone work again?Collapse )

So, here we are again. This time it's 'Bartlet For America', a flashback episode centering around Leo's turn at the MS hearings. The flashbacks aren't as fun as they sometimes are (the subject matter's pretty serious after all), but they give us more valuable insight into our much-loved characters. I really like this ep, not least because it shows Josh doing his job as a capable, loyal deputy...

It's 'cause a guy is walking down the street and he falls into a hole, see.Collapse )

And so, to 'The Women of Qumar.' It's taken me a while to get to this one, I haven't been well lately.

I traditionally think of this as an ep I'm not so keen on (and that's only by The West Wing standards) but it does have some great moments.

Josh is very yummy - though this is the beginning of ensorcellment (possibly hence why this ep seems generally less popular, though C.J.'s behaviour is a little odd too), The President is being sued and Donna thinks like a prostitute!

I'll be back on my street cornerCollapse )

Now it's the turn of 'The Indians in the Lobby', which is about just that! It's probably most memorable, though, for the Butterball Hotline! On a more serious note, there are four million new poor people...

Indians on the day before Thanksgiving. Wow. Ironic.Collapse )

And so, onto the angsty 'War Crimes'. It's good angst, in my opinion, and is balanced out with some lighter moments; 'Josh in jeans' being one, plus there's also Sam with his penny issues and Toby's wonderful speech about loyalty to all the staff.

I'm turning into one of the funnel peopleCollapse )

I've decided to post my next picspam here - hope that's ok. I am not for a moment claiming this to be in the league of the Season 1 & 2 picspams done over here by Caz963. I just thought I'd have a go, as there don't seem to be any of this type done after Season 2 - and it's fun! I've covered the first three eps over at my journal.

So...now we're onto my favourite ep of the season – I think. It’s a very, very, pretty ep and has Josh at his charming/bulldog best! It also includes one of my all-time favourite J/D scenes.

You think the tie is the only thing standing between you and Tony Bennett?Collapse )
